Creating an Entity for Culture & Community

Over the past four years, DVDL has collaborated with art collectors Michael Forman and Jennifer Rice on the development of Forman Arts Initiative (FAI). This new organization empowers creatives through tailored programs and support while championing the profound impact of arts in Philadelphia and also provide public access to the founder’s world-class contemporary art collection. DVDL has worked with the client to gradually and intentionally shape the organization by leading research trips, organizing advisory and listening sessions, conducting benchmarking and forecasting work, and designing and implementing public-facing artist support and cultural programs to activate FAI’s mission.

More recently, DVDL has focused our work on refining operational, communications, and programmatic strategies for greater impact as FAI looks ahead to opening a physical campus in Philadelphia. DVDL has developed and guided the growth of Art Works, a $3 million grant program, launched Philadelphia’s first artist-in-residence in city agencies program Public Works, debuting a citywide public art project throughout the public transit system, and supported a national leadership search for FAI’s inaugural Executive Director.
